Lois Phillip, a Dene woman who grew up in Fort Providence, served as teacher then principal at Deh Gáh School for more than 20 years. She has founded many projects and organizations including Northern Compass, and Northern Loco, where she now works, and has been recognized for excellence in education by a number of national bodies.
